World's first 3-D printed electric cars to be available in market by 2015

Wellington, Nov 08 (ANI): A US Company has recently unveiled the world's first 3-D printed electric car, which they plan to make available in the market by 2015.
Local Motors stated that they plan to make them available for sale in about a year at prices ranging from US 18,000 dollars to US 30,000 dollars, Stuff.co.nz reported.
Buyers would be able to select their ideal car off a computer screen, and after hitting the print button, a giant machine would then start making the car out of carbon fibre-reinforced plastic, weaving it out of thin lines of paste that harden to form the chassis, body and even the dashboard. The process takes about 40 hours.
Company's CEO John "Jay" Rogers said that the 3-D designed-car will be recyclable as long as it has not been painted.
The prototype of the design was on display recently at the 2014 SEMA Show in Las Vegas. (ANI)

Burger King tests India waters, starts with 12 outlets

MUMBAI (Reuters) - U.S. fast food chain Burger King Worldwide will open about 12 outlets in India over the next 60-90 days, Rajeev Varman, chief executive of the hamburger chain's India unit said on Saturday.
The chain announced last year a tie-up with the Everstone Group to develop the Burger King brand presence in the country.
In India, the hamburger chain has changed its menu to sell mutton, chicken and veggie sandwiches.
"In the long run, India is going to be one of the largest markets globally. Burger King most certainly sees India as one of the biggest opportunities in the future," Varman said ahead of the chain's first store opening in New Delhi.
Burger King is a late entrant in the country. Rival McDonald's Corp has been around for close to two decades and has already grown its network in tier two and three cities.
"Turkey, China and Russia are each growing by around 100 restaurants a year. Here in India, we will set up our first few restaurants and use that to fine-tune our operating model before determining our growth plans," Varman said in an email.

Facebook now allows you to 'see less' from friends on news feed

Washington, Nov 08 (ANI): Facebook has rolled out a more in-depth settings menu for the users wherein they can now choose to "see less" from friends on their news feed rather than unfollow them entirely.
Earlier, users had to choose between follow or unfollow for a particular friend. Now they can just inform Facebook to publish lesser updates in their news feed from that friend.
According to the Verge, there is a new master view that allows you to quickly see everyone you are following and people you have unfollowed so that you can swap people in and out of those groups.
The new setting is also applicable for groups and pages. You can easily tone down the feeds from pages that are extremely loud and flood your news feed with their updates.
However, it cannot be said how much content would be toned down using the new feature of 'see less'. (ANI)

Wi-fi could be 4G of rural India: Railtel chief

New Delhi, Nov 8 (IANS) Wi-fi or a local area wireless technology could be a fourth generation (4G) connection for digitizing rural India, Railtel Corporation of India chairman and managing director R.K.Bahuguna said Saturday.
"Wi-fi could be a 4G of rural India," he said while speaking at the CEO Roundtable on the Aegis Graham Bell Awards 2014 supported by Cellular Operators' Association of India.
Formed in 2000, Railtel is a miniratna government enterprise to provide nation-wide broadband, telecom and multimedia network.
4G LTE is the fastest network connection available in India.
The government has embarked on an ambitious National Optical Fibre Network (NOFN) project that aims at providing broadband connectivity to 2.5 lakh gram panchayats in India by March 2017.
"The government has done a pilot project in three villages, each in Tripura, Rajasthan and Odisha to connect blocks through wi-fi in 2012," said Bahuguna, contending wi-fi is pocket friendly for rural India as well compared to broadband.
"They have limited usage and wi-fi is not expensive," he added.

Salman Khan Meets Narendra Modi In Delhi

Salman Khan, who is currently in Delhi shooting for his upcoming film ‘Bajrangi Bhaijaan‘, recently met the Prime Minister Narendra Modi in the capital. What transpired in the meeting is not known, but the two seemed to have bonded well and had ‘Swachch Bharat’ campaign to thank for that.
The recently launched cleanliness campaign has Salman’s name in the nomination list that the PM had given out to carry forward and promote it. After Salman even participated in one of the drives, the actor praised the Prime Minister’s vision and in turn Modi too acknowledged his contribution.
Well, we have to say, Shah Rukh Khan may have forgotten to invite Modiji for a special screening of his filmHappy New Year, but if speculations are to be believed, Salman’s special visit to the Prime Minister was to invite him for sister Arpita’s wedding.  Ahem! Ahem.. That’s a well remembered invitee!
