1) Chaar Sahibzaade-Based on the lives of sons of Guru Gobind Singh Ji, the movie broke all records of earnings at the box office. The film was a huge success. Directed by Harry Baweja, this religious animation was applauded by Punjabis all around the globe.

2) Punjab 1984-A story of a mother and her lost son in the backdrop of Operation Bluestar in 1984 is one of the best scripts of Punjabi movies released so far. The strong characters, emotions and a brilliant acting brought tears in everyone's eyes.  This Anurag Singh film was a milestone in Punjabi Film Industry.

3) Goreyan Nu Daffa Karo-This movie was a relief for the the Punjabi audience from all those stale comedies. It can be termed as one of the career defining films of Amrinder Gill.

4) Jatt James Bond-Jatt James Bond of Gippy Grewal was also appreciated by the Punjabi audience but this high budget movie failed to meet its cost.

 Top Movies Did Not Stand Upon Audience Expectations

1) Aa Gaye Munde UK De-The movie starred Jimmy Sheirgill, Neeru Bajwa, Gurpreet Ghuggi, Binnu Dhillon, directed by the much respected Manmohan Singh. This movie had every ingredient of success except one, a good story. The sequel of successful Munde UK De turned out to be a disappointment and did Not Stand Up On Audience Expectations.

2) Dil Vil Pyaar Vyaar-The movie starred Punjabi legend Gurdas Mann along with Neeru Bajwa and Jassi Gill. Directed by Manjit Mann, the film had a poor story line which disappointed the Punjabi audience as a result movie did Not Stand Up On Audience Expectations.

3) Romeo Ranjha-Jazzy B and Garry Sandhu together in a Navniat Singh film. The film had strong action but poor screenplay & story as a result of which movie did Not Stand Up On Audience Expectations.

4) Proper Patola-This movie was much hyped for being the first Punjabi movie with a female double role. It had Neeru Bajwa, Harish Verma and Yuvraj Hans. This Harish Vyas film not only had a poor story but also a poor title which was nowhere apt.Hence it was also unabled to stand Up On Audience Expectations.

The Interview Hollywood Movie Collections From Internet Websites

As we all knew that 'The Interview' is controversial comedy about a plot to assassinate North Korean leader Kim Jong Un.The studio had canceled a wider release just one week earlier, after the top theater chains in the U.S. said they wouldn't show the film following threats of 9/11-style terrorist attacks on venues that screened the Seth Rogen and James Franco starrer.

After Sony decided to proceed with a limited theatrical and VOD release of the film ,the movie was made available to rent or purchase on both Google platforms last Wednesday.In addition to Google Play and YouTube Movies, the film was available on Sony's dedicated website seetheinterview.com and via Microsoft's Xbox Video. Apple's iTunes made the film available for rent or purchase a few days later.

The movie, which cost $5.99 to rent and $14.99 to buy, took in $15 million in online transactions, from more than two million rentals and purchases, Sony said Sunday. While it's unknown exactly how much of this total came from Google transactions.The majority of the film's online sales came from Google Play and YouTube. 

The film, which also played at 331 independent theaters starting Christmas Day, also took $3,505,000 at the box office in 7 days i.e. in a week.

The Interview has likely raised the profile of YouTube's 2-year-old movie rental service, which had previously mostly been used for smaller and older titles. The film, which is Sony's biggest online film of all time, set a precedent for a major Hollywood studio with its simultaneous theatrical and online availability.

PK Movie 14th Day i.e. 2nd Thursday(1 Jan) Box Office Report In India

Film added13.15 Cr nett on 2nd Thursday which was good jump. Film should cross record of ''Dhoom 3'' of 283 cr nett by the end of 3rd weekend. Film is almost certain to cross 300 Cr nett as there is no major competition this week too. 

Film has collected 278 Cr nett plus in 14 days. Film is 2nd highest grosser in history of Bollywood in India behind ''Dhoom 3'' and it is among top 5 in overseas. Film also collected 130 Cr in 14 days in overseas and it seems that film will cross 145 - 150 Cr there too by the end of run as film will get boost from new year holidays.
